Ange Postecoglou only had success at Celtic.
The big Australian remains a fan favorite since his two years in charge before becoming manager of Tottenham Hotspur last year.
Postecoglou is loved at Parkhead having left the club with a domestic Treble to his name, but his Premier League career at Spurs is yet to really take off.
Of course, it is only the Australian’s second season at the North London club and he has already used the Hoops as an example to promise a trophy to the supporters.
However, after losing to Bournemouth in last night’s EPL match at the Vitality Stadium thanks to Dean Huijsen’s winner, Postecoglou suffered a fate he has never felt before from his own fanbase.
As he went full-time to applaud the supporters who had traveled to see his team in action, a small section of punters shouted abuse at the 59-year-old.
Postecoglou, known for his no-nonsense attitude, applauded those who accepted his approach but also gestured to the fans who had booed him during and after the match.
A short clip posted on social media showed Postecoglou making a “calm down” gesture to some fans as he was led away by a steward monitoring the separation.
Seconds later, the Australian was seen seemingly accepting the messages from the stand as he looked sarcastically to discover if they were indeed aimed at him.
And when reporters asked full-time about what had been said, the former Celtic boss was coy.
“They are disappointed, and rightly so,” he said.
To which he added: “And they gave me some direct feedback that I think has been taken on board.”
Pressed to explain what the ‘instant feedback’ was, he added: “Yeah, probably not for here, mate.”
Spurs are currently tenth in the Premier League with twenty points from fourteen games.
